Flash is a browser independent, bandwith friendly graphic/animation technology that will look the same in any browser equipped with the Flash plug-in. Flash's ability to render the same in any browser makes it an ideal technology to use when the look of a web site has to exactly right. Flash also has the ability to render sounds in a compact and consistant fashion in any browser. Flash can be used as flashy entrance into your site, as a single page in a web site, or as an entire site.
Flash is an excellent alternative for any page or site that is heavily laden with images, graphics, animated GIF's, or sound files. Web sites that are mostly text based can still use Flash, but its benefits diminish on these sites to the point where we would recommend using standard HTML and CSS.
One particular use of Flash that we highly recommend is in training videos and/or web sites. Its ability to render images, animations, videos and sound, coupled with its compact file size, make it an excellent tool for training workers numbering from one to thousands.
